Use a Cobra to form the Waltman’s loop

Position catheter’s tip to the contralateral to external iliac artery

Advance the guidewire to the origin of the ipsilateral common iliac artery (aortic bifurcation)

Advance wire and catheter together while twisting the catheter until the loop is formed and the tip is into the aorta

Remove the wire and attach a syringe with contrast
-
Pull catheter down into the ipsilateral internal iliac artery

Use slight rotations of the catheter and small injections of contrast to guide the catheter’s tip into the target vessel

Confirm catheter location with contrast
-
Perform embolization
-
At the end of the procedure, advance a wire at the top of the loop and push the catheter and wire together into the aorta

Pull down the catheter into the contralateral external iliac artery
-
Remove the catheter over a wire
