  • Use a Cobra to form the Waltman’s loop

  • Position catheter’s tip to the contralateral to external iliac artery

  • Advance the guidewire to the origin of the ipsilateral common iliac artery (aortic bifurcation)

  • Advance wire and catheter together while twisting the catheter until the loop is formed and the tip is into the aorta

  • Remove the wire and attach a syringe with contrast

  • Pull catheter down into the ipsilateral internal iliac artery

  • Use slight rotations of the catheter and small injections of contrast to guide the catheter’s tip into the target vessel

  • Confirm catheter location with contrast

  • Perform embolization

  • At the end of the procedure, advance a wire at the top of the loop and push  the catheter and wire together into the aorta

  • Pull down the catheter into the contralateral external iliac artery

  • Remove the catheter over a wire
